Exosex LBAM MTE dispensers should be placed 7 m apart throughout the orchard or vineyard. Start at the corner of the orchard/vineyard with placing the first dispenser 4 m from the corner.
Dispensers should be placed in the top third of the tree or vine canopy and must be in place prior to biofix.
Reinforcements should be placed where potential pest problems could occur. Things to consider are:
- Untreated orchards/vineyards less than 100m away
- Prevailing wind at dusk
Sunset - Higher/Lower ground levels
- Surrounding host plants
Adults rely on wind for dispersal. The males’ main flight occurs 2 – 3 hours after sunset and has a lesser flight peak 2 – 3 hours after sunrise. Significant flight activity occurs with exposure from the full moon and new moon.
